Senior Deputy Vince Cain

After leaving the military, Vince began his career with the county in 2005 as a Corrections Officer. During his time in the Corrections Bureau, he worked in a variety of specialized units to include Complex Security, the Correctional Tactical Unit, and as an instructor at the Training Academy. In 2011, Vince joined the Law Enforcement Bureau as a patrol deputy. Prior to joining the Recruiting Team, he served the past five years as a member of the SWAT team. During his time on SWAT, Vince created and taught Critical Incident Response to Active Shooter Incidents to school districts within Travis County. He is also an Adjunct Instructor for the SWAT team and the Training Academy.

Julia has been a member of the TCSO family since December of 2008. She spent her first few years working with the female inmate population at the Travis County Correctional Complex in Del Valle, Texas. In 2013, Julia transferred to the Hospital Visitation Unit which consisted of coordinating inmate visitation, and escorting inmates to various hospitals and medical appointments. After a short period with the Prisoner Transportation Unit, Julia joined the dedicated team of TCSO Recruiters. Julia has attended the Department of Public Safety's Advanced Physical Fitness and Readiness Assessment Instructor Training Program and hopes to assist current and future employees work to achieve their fitness goals.

Vince retired with 30 years of service to TCSO, exemplifying what a career in law enforcement is all about. He began his career as a Corrections Officer, spending four years working at the downtown Travis County Jail and two of those years in Inmate Transportation. The remainder of his time with TCSO has been as a Law Enforcement Deputy, specializing in the following units: Patrol, SWAT, Community Outreach and Services and Recruiting. Vince is a TCOLE Certified Master Jailer, TCOLE Certified Master Peace Officer, Crime Prevention Specialist and a TCSO adjunct Training Academy Instructor. He is a hard-worker both at TCSO and in his personal life; a family-man who spends every free minute he has working on his ranch and studying agriculture.

PRINCE ALVIS L1078

Alvis has proudly been serving TCSO since January 2000. He began his career as a Corrections Officer working at the Travis County Correctional Complex in Del Valle, TX. In 2012, Alvis joined the Human Resources department as a Background Investigator and now is one of our dedicated and passionate Recruiters. He has been awarded the agency’s lifesaving award twice among other accolades. Alvis is a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a TCOLE Certified Peace Officer and Retired Army Reservist with 22 years of service and three deployments. As the leader of our TCSO Cycling Team, Alvis is committed to the Austin cycling community and agency physical fitness. He sits on boards for the Sheriff's Memorial & Benevolent Society of Travis County and Travis County Green Team. Alvis also is on the Career and Technical Education Advisory board for Austin Independent School District and works part time as a Substitute teacher for Elgin Independent School District and represents the people of Ward 3 in Elgin, Texas as their City Councilman.

Alvis enjoys spending time with his family, and especially his granddaughter, the two can often be found having pancakes together or munching Oreos. Alvis also enjoys volunteering in the community, cycling and competitive triathlons and promises to put just as much passion into everything he does for the community and TCSO.
