Authorities Searching for Suspect in Assault Case Involving Machete

At 10:13 pm on January 25, 2018, TCSO received a report from a female caller who claimed her boyfriend had been stabbed and that they both had been attacked in the 500 block of E. Howard Ln.

Investigators with TCSO worked throughout the night and have determined that a female resident in the Dessau Mobile Home Park was bound, assaulted and tortured by her ex-boyfriend.

The victim’s cousin, who is also her roommate, arrived home with her boyfriend and as they entered the home, the suspect attacked both of them with a machete. Both the cousin and her boyfriend sustained serious laceration injuries. It was the cousin who called 911 as she and her boyfriend fled their attacker.

All three victims were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect has been identified at CARLOS MEJIA, 22. The vehicle he fled the scene in was found abandoned in Bexar County.

A warrant has been issued for Carlos Mejia and he is actively being pursued by the US Marshall Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. TCSO requests that anyone who has information regarding his whereabouts call the TCSO tip line at 512-854-1444 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.
