Deputy Struck in Hit-and-Run Incident

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 18, 2020.

Deputy Struck in Hit-and-Run Incident.

On Friday, June 12, 2020, at 11:27 pm, deputies were working a collision in the 13400 block of FM 812. Deputies had traffic flow reduced to one lane, making room for emergency medical response. A vehicle approached the west side of the collision scene, disregarded direct commands to stop from a TCSO Deputy and drove straight into the active response area, striking the deputy. The deputy was thrown onto the hood of the car, then fell to the ground. He was treated and released by physicians at a local hospital.

The suspect vehicle may be an Infiniti i30, 2000 or 2001 model year and may have damage to the hood and driver’s side passenger door. The driver is described as a Hispanic male in his late twenties to early thirties. There was a female passenger in the front seat.

TCSO believes this was an intentional act and is seeking help identifying the vehicle and its occupants. Anyone with information is asked to call the TCSO tip line at 512-854-1444 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.
