TCSO Impounds Vehicle Involved in Deputy Hit-and-Run

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office has impounded the vehicle detectives believe struck a deputy in a hit-and-run collision on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. The Lexus ES 350, believed to be involved, was located and recovered from the parking garage of an apartment complex near US 183 and Pond Springs Road.

The investigation has revealed a potential suspect and detectives are diligently pursuing evidence connecting him to the incident.

The injured deputy was one of three officers conducting traffic enforcement in a school zone on McNeil Dr. As he stepped into an empty lane of travel and signaled a vehicle traveling in the other lane to stop, the vehicle drove into him.

The deputy was transported to a local hospital by Austin-Travis County EMS and was released the same day.
