This page is designed to show the activities required to register an attorney’s telephone number to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) “Private Do Not Record” List as a “Private” or “Free and Private” telephone number for confidential, privileged communications between attorneys and inmates.

PLEASE NOTE that ALL phone numbers that are NOT REGISTERED to the TCSO “Private Do Not Record” List ARE SUBJECT TO RECORDING as indicated in the message prompt provided by Securus on the Sheriff’s Office phone system.

STEP 1

Register for a Travis County account for the Defense Attorney Phone Registration Application. Please register for an account using a desktop device. Account registration is unavailable on mobile.

For assistance with registration or passwords, you can contact the Travis County ITS Helpdesk for support by email at: ITS.Helpdesk@traviscountytx.gov
PLEASE NOTE that assistance is available Monday - Friday (excluding County holidays), 7am - 6pm.

  • Under the drop down box for “Application” select “Defense Attorney Phone Registration”
  • Enter your email address
  • Click Register
  • Complete all steps required for registration of attorney telephone number[s] to the TCSO “Private Do Not Record” List
  • When your application is complete you will receive an email stating, “Your account request has been submitted”. This means that your account is being reviewed by TCSO personnel. Until your account has been verified and created, the phone number[s] you submitted in the application are NOT YET READY for “Private” or “Free and Private” communications and calls placed to the number[s] will still be subject to recording.

STEP 2

After your account has been verified and created, you will receive a second email stating, “Your account has been created. The registered phone number[s] have been added to the TCSO “Private Do Not Record” List and are ready for use”.

STEP 3

Once you receive an email stating, “Your account request has been approved,” TCSO has completed the registration of your phone numbers from the application and your submitted phone number[s] are registered to the TCSO “Private Do Not Record” List, and may be used for “Private” or “Free and Private” communications.

  • Attorney phone numbers registered to the TCSO “Private Do Not Record” List ARE NOT recorded. Accordingly, Call Participants in unrecorded calls to Registered Attorney Phone Numbers WILL NOT receive a recorded prompt advising the call is being recorded.

***DISCLAIMER REGARDING ATTORNEY PHONE AND VIDEO REGISTRATION***

Securus Phone and Securus Video are two completely separate systems that require separate registration processes. To ensure confidential, privileged communication Attorneys MUST register as attorneys in the registration process for EACH system. Please note that ALL conversations to phone numbers and/or persons that are NOT REGISTERED as attorneys on the TCSO “Private Do Not Record” List ARE SUBJECT TO RECORDING.
