How do I contact an inmate?
Telephones are available in each of the dayrooms. Inmates will have access to the telephone during morning, afternoon and evening hours. A 20-minute time limit is enforced to allow all inmates access to the telephone. These are “collect call” telephones which requires the receiver of the call to pay the charges for those calls that are accepted. Should you have questions regarding the Evercom phone system or phone call charges, call (800) 844.6591.
As an alternative to 'collect calls,' inmates can also purchase phone cards for $10 or $20 through Commissary. Phone cards can be used to reach cell phones. They can be carried at all times. They can be used outside the facility when the inmate is released.
All letters, cards, and other correspondence are to be sent directly to the inmate at the appropriate address listed above.

How do I pick up an inmate’s property?
Inmates may release personal property during the posted release hours: Travis County Jail, 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Any time of the day or night, arrangements may be made if a property release is necessary to secure an inmate's release; Central Booking Facility, individuals can release their valuables to facilitate their release Sunday through Friday, 24-hours a day.
Individuals receiving property are required to show valid, official picture identification. Inmates being transferred to prison must designate a specific person whom they authorize to receive their property.
Items not picked up within 30 days will be discarded.

How do I get medication to an inmate?
Do not bring any medications, prescription or over-the-counter, to either facility. During the initial intake process all inmates undergo a medical screening. Any medications that an inmate may require will be identified at this time and provided by the Medical Department.
The licensed medical staff, per jail physician orders, distributes medication.
Some over the counter medications can be purchased from the commissary.
