TCSO Working Homicide in Southeast Travis County
In the early morning hours of February 19, 2023, TCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division began assisting the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office on an incident involving a Hispanic woman in her thirties whose body was discovered in the 100 block of Stony Point. She had sustained a gunshot wound.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives determined that the woman was a passenger in a red truck that was shot at by someone in another vehicle while traveling in the 5600 block of South US Highway 183, in Travis County. The shooting happened between 11 pm (February 18, 2023) and midnight (February 19, 2023). The victim was then transported to the location in Bastrop County.
Detectives are actively investigating and believe there were eyewitnesses to the incident who likely didn’t realize what was happening at the time.
