TCSO Working Officer-Involved Shooting on FM 2769

At 4:17 pm on January 28, 2025, TCSO deputies responded to the 14200 block of FM 2769 Road after receiving a 911 call from an out-of-state relative reporting a disturbance involving his parents. The caller reported his father was holding his mother at gunpoint.

Upon arrival, deputies heard cries for help and made entry into the residence. An adult male was discovered holding a gun to a woman’s head. The subject refused to lower his weapon. A TCSO deputy then fired his weapon. CPR was conducted immediately but the subject was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene. The woman was unharmed.

A full investigation is underway by the Texas Rangers. TCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division and TCSO Internal Affairs Unit are also conducting parallel investigations. The Texas Rangers is the lead agency in the investigation, therefore TCSO will not release further information regarding the investigation. The deputy who used lethal force will be placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
