TCSO Investigating Austin’s Colony Homicide

At 4:06 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, Travis County 911 received multiple calls from the 14500 block of Oliphant St. reporting that someone had been murdered.
When deputies arrived at the residence, a woman in her 50s was found with stab wounds and CPR was administered immediately. The victim was ultimately pronounced deceased at 4:36 p.m.

Deputies were told the suspect is the victim’s ex son-in-law and identified him as Ananias Jimenez-Arroyo, 34. The family member who called 911said he entered the residence as the homicide was occurring and a physical altercation between himself and Jimenez-Arroyo occurred. Jimenez-Arroyo fled the residence.

Shortly after the initial 911 call, Jimenez-Arroyo’s brother-in-law called 911 to report the crime and provided the suspect’s location. Jimenez-Arroyo was detained by the Austin Police Department at a residence on the 7000 block of Decker Lane. He was booked into the Travis County Jail at 1:09 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, after being released from the hospital.

This is TCSO’s second homicide investigation of 2025.
