TCSO Encourages Safe Driving & Boating Over Holiday Weekend

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 2, 2025

TCSO Encourages Safe Driving & Boating Over Holiday Weekend

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is committed to keeping roadways and Lake Travis safe during the upcoming holiday weekend.

TCSO Lake Patrol Deputies will patrol Lake Travis, looking for impaired boaters, and making sure watercraft drivers are adhering to state laws and safety regulations. TCSO Patrol Deputies will ensure roadways are safe by enforcing speed limits and looking for impaired drivers.

The July 4 holiday weekend is notorious for fireworks and noise complaint calls that flood the 911 call center. TCSO asks the public to make sure callers in crisis aren’t delayed in getting the help they need by reserving 911 for emergency calls and directing the rest to TCSO’s non-emergency number: 512-974-0845, Option 3.

“Please do your part to make the July 4 weekend fun for everyone. Be courteous to others on roadways, waterways and in your neighborhoods. We want everyone to have a great time and make it home safely at the end of the celebration.”
-Sheriff Sally Hernandez
