Evidence Reveals Apparent Murder/Suicide is Double Homicide
At approximately 8:45 a.m. on September 23, 2026, TCSO responded to a 911 call from the manager of an apartment complex in the 3400 block of Shoreline Dr. The manager reported that while serving a writ at a specific unit, he encountered the apartment door ajar. He announced himself and got no response, so he pushed the door open and called 911 immediately upon seeing a body.
When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered two women, both deceased, with gunshot wounds. They were identified as Anecia Kay Thacker, 37, of Austin and Lamonica Webb, 32, of Austin. At a press conference Wednesday, TCSO Public Information Officer Kristen Dark stated that the case was being investigated as a potential murder suicide but that detectives weren’t ruling out other causes. Once a search warrant was obtained, detectives and crime scene specialists were able to fully examine the apartment and discovered evidence that contradicted the murder-suicide theory. After comparing autopsy and ballistic results Thursday with evidence found on scene, detectives determined the incident was a double homicide.
As the investigation continued, detectives used various investigative tools and newly developed information to identify Michael Robinson, 24, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, as a person of interest. Detectives researched Robinson and his whereabouts and
determined he had likely been present at the apartment at the time of the incident.
Once Robinson’s vehicle and residence were identified, TCSO Deputies were able to locate him. Detectives subsequently gathered additional evidence confirming Robinson’s presence in the apartment during the incident and involvement in the
shooting. Robinson was taken into custody on Friday, September 25, 2026, charged with Capital Murder.
