Body of Missing Diver Recovered from Lake Travis

At 5:57 pm on December 10, 2022, TCSO Lake Patrol Deputies and other agencies responded to a 911 report that a male in his 20s had gone to Lake Travis to do some scuba diving and hadn’t returned home. Search efforts were conducted until 8:30 pm and suspended due to darkness.

Early Monday morning, December 12th, deputies resumed searching using sonar and a remotely operated underwater camera system. They were again assisted by LCRA and TX Parks & Wildlife.

Search efforts resumed this morning and TCSO was assisted by TX Parks & Wildlife and APD’s Lake Patrol Unit. At approximately 12:30 pm, the body of the missing diver was located at a depth of 60 feet. He was recovered at approximately 1:30 pm.

Out of respect for the family involved, and because this is not a criminal incident, TCSO will not disclose the identity of the decedent via press release.
